The problem
Small Kansas businesses struggle to raise capital: traditional lending is slow, strict, and expensive, and national crowdfunding platforms lack Kansas-specific compliance, impose high minimums, and offer no escrow or e-signature. Local investors, meanwhile, have no trustworthy channel to fund businesses in their own communities.
What we built
Prairie Code designed and built the full platform from the ground up: a compliant crowdfunding marketplace connecting Kansas businesses with local micro-investors. It manages the entire investment lifecycle — campaign creation, escrow-backed transactions, legal document signing, and AI-driven recommendations.
- Campaign management with guided wizards and performance dashboards
- Investor search, filtering, and portfolio tracking
- Escrow and transaction management with multi-factor approval and audit trails
- AI-powered investment recommendations
- Automated reconciliation and compliance reporting
Built to the Securities Act intrastate exemption, JOBS Act crowdfunding limits, E-SIGN, and Bank Secrecy Act requirements — with TLS 1.3 in transit and AES-256 at rest.
The outcome
A transparent, public-serving platform for local investment — one built to serve the people using it rather than extract from them, and owned outright by the institution behind it.
